Job Overview:

Marathon Oil seeks an experienced and pragmatic Compliance and Ethics professional to play a pivotal role within our Compliance and Ethics Organization. This role is central to supporting Marathon Oil’s commitment to ethical behavior and reputation for integrity.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Refinement: Actively contribute to maintaining and refining our Compliance and Ethics Program (“Program”) strategy and initiatives; utilize independent judgment and discretion in evaluating and making suggestions about Program processes
  • Initative Leadership: Lead and drive key Program initiatives, including those related to enhancing accountability, communications, data analytics, documentation, policy and procedure development, and training
  • Adaptive Project Management: Efficiently scope and manage multiple concurrent projects from start to finish, adeptly adapting to new information and shifting priorities while ensuring detailed documentation and accurate progress reporting
  • Technology Integration and Oversight: Oversee and optimize Program systems and leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance both Program efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborative Partnerships: Build and maintain strong, effective partnerships with various operational and corporate teams to implement Program solutions in alignment with Marathon Oil’s strategic objectives; serve as a dependable Program ambassador

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of five years of dedicated Compliance and Ethics experience
  • Proven understanding of Compliance and Ethics requirements and expectations for a publicly traded company
  • Demonstrated expertise in scoping, executing, and documenting complex projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics and issues clearly and concisely
  • Technical proficiency with common corporate and Program systems
  • Demonstrated initiative to analyze issues and recommend appropriate resolution
  • Familiarity with data analytics in the context of a Program
  • Commitment to the highest level of honesty, integrity, and professional judgment
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion
  • Team player focused on supporting the Program and those seeking assistance or guidance from the Program

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience within an In-house Program
  • Demonstrated experience in utilizing data analytics to drive decisions
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CCEP, CFE, and/or PMP
