Marathon Oil is currently looking for Energy Management Students that graduate May 2018 to work in the Land Department based in Houston, Texas. Marathon is looking for detail oriented graduates who are looking to start their career in the Land Department as a Division Order Analyst.  Marathon is looking for individuals who have an inquisitive and discerning mind; ready to learn and contribute to our Land Asset Teams.  Marathon currently has active unconventional shale plays in Eagle Ford, Permian, Bakken and Oklahoma (Scoop/Stack). 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, calculate and maintain record title ownership and division of interest utilizing title opinions, leases, deeds, probate proceedings, curative, etc.
  • Establish, update and maintain joint interest billing and revenue decks.
  • Verify company interest and third party division orders.
  • Assist with acquisition, divestiture, due diligence, internal/external audits, data conversion and other special projects.
  • Professionally and competently respond to royalty owner inquiries through telephone, written or electronic communication.
  • Proactively seek to develop and improve your own skills though rotational assignments, education, training, and mentoring.
  • Seek opportunities to innovate, continuously improve our processes and look for new efficiencies and better ways of doing things.
  • Collaborate with Land Operations, Law, F&A and other departments to ensure “whole team” success.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Energy Management or PLM equivalent required
  • Experience with ESRI’s ArcView, Drilling-Info and IHS is a plus
  • Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skill level) is required.
  • AAPL, HADOA, or NADOA certification a plus 
  • Internship with E&P Companies a plus
